Bath Time
Please plan your bath experience. Be aware it is outside and uncovered. Be generous with your water, be patient, the bath will take some time to fill, a bit of water over the edge is no problem!
Enjoy our bath salts, these are 100% organic.
Light the candles, have a glass of wine and relax.
Our loo is modern, hygienic and pleasant to use if you follow our simple guidelines. Taking time to read our information as to the proper use will allow for correct composting action and assist you in feeling comfortable with a new piece of equipment.
The primary concept of our loo is the separation of liquid and solid waste. Urine into the composting chamber will prevent proper composting and will cause an unpleasant smell.
Seated usage is essential for everyone, male or female.
Place loo paper down the solids chamber. and then cover a sprinkle of compost from the bin beside the loo.
Absolutely no tampons, wipes or sanitary pads down the loo, these do not compost.
Please wrap and place in bin provided
We encourage you to take sometime out and go for a short bush walk.
Check out our books on ‘Forest Bathing’ and enjoy the health benefits.
Please see our aerial map to get your bearings.
Our forest is very safe if you follow our guidelines, please do not wander off the trails
Our tracks are all named and marked with orange directional triangles.
You are never very far from the Pod house and most walks will take you less than 20 minutes.
Please do not tamper with any traps or bait stations that you will come across on your walks. Your stay with us directly helps us to work towards a predator free Puketui. We only use Department of Conservation approved trapping and baiting systems.
Hot weather can attract wasps, while we are constantly working to eradicate these please be aware that they are about and a sting is painful, do not disturb them if you come across any, but let us know please. Don’t leave food sitting around unnecessarily.
